Pastor Paul Lang

"How can a young man keep his way pure ? By guarding it according to Your word."
- Pslam 119:9 (ESV)

When I was a young man, through the ministry of other spiritual men and women, the Lord impressed upon me how precious and essential His Word is to my life every day. In those days, I never dreamed that I would one day serve Him as a pastor, but after nearly 30 years in a business career, He led me into the ministry.

Along the way, the Lord has given me the most precious of my life's blessings, my lovely wife, Betti. She is my partner for life and in the ministry of the gospel. God has given us three children and seven grand children.

I received my Master of Divinity degree from Lutheran Brethren Seminary, and in 2004 Emmaus Road Church called me to serve as pastor.  Together with the congregation we have worked side by side in the ministry of God's Word sharing in the gifts of grace God is giving among us, ministering to one another and serving our community.  Prior to Emmaus Road, I served as pastor for Bunker Hill Lutheran Church, Princeton, NJ.

Today, I am not such a young man anymore, but I continue to pray that His Word will be the defining factor in my life and everything we do at Emmaus Road.

I would really like to hear from you, if you have any questions.

I was raised in a Christian home, and my Dad is a Lutheran Brethren pastor, but even still, God’s call to ministry was impressed upon my life at an early age. Soon after I graduated high school, I was on staff at a church as a Worship Director. That was an excellent time of growth for me as I learned what it meant to be a part of a church staff team, and how to serve the people of a church. I also the opportunity to attend and graduate from 10,000 Fathers Worship School, and hone my skills in discipleship and leading worship in music.

Fast-forward to 2018, and my family and I answered God’s call to join him in his work in the community of Dewitt, at Emmaus Road Church. I serve in the Tweens (4th-6th) and Youth Group (7th-12th) ministries, and also assist with the music and Worship Gatherings on Sunday mornings. I am taking classes towards my Masters of Divinity degree at Lutheran Brethren Seminary, and hope to graduate in 2020.

My wife, Emily and I have been blessed with 3 children, and I love that I get to spend my weekdays as a stay-at-home Dad to them. God has given me a passion for discipling people and teaching them to engage in a life of worship to him, and I am excited to be a part of his kingdom work here in Dewitt.
